How can we support NHS professionals?
If you are working in Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, The Royal Liverpool University Hospital or Aintree University Hospital with a child or young person aged 10-25 years old who has been affected by violence, you can complete our referral form which will reach one of our Navigators.
Before making a referral please read our Privacy Notice, which details how this information will be processed and stored.
The Navigators will assess the needs of the young person and then use a wide range of contacts with services to offer support to help the young person change their life and steer away from violence.
If you are a non-NHS professional
For example
- You are working with a young person who has a black eye and says they were involved in a fight over the weekend. They tell you they now feel the need to carry a weapon in case they see the other person involved in the fight again.
2. As violence is a factor here, you complete a referral form to the Navigator’s project.
3. A Navigator will review the referral form and refer to eligibility criteria. They will contact the young person to either discuss over the phone or arrange a meeting in the community.
4. Through telephone discussion or a meeting in the community, the Navigator will understand what potential harms surround the young person and where support is needed.
5. The Navigator will refer the young person onto services that can support them with identified issues such as substance misuse, education or mental health.
Navigator will support the young person along the way and check that they are receiving the support needed.
6. As a professional, you can stay informed about the project by signing up for our quarterly newsletter/update email. This will inform you about project success and case studies.
